Wakene Beach Camp in Ponta Malongane offers Luxury Camp Sites with private kitchens and ablutions.

Ponta Malongane, ‘Place of the Children’, is situated on the Southern Mozambique Coast. It has a beautiful tropical coastline and is known for its scuba diving.

Nestled behind the main dune, within the coastal forest, lie ten secluded camp sites, each with their own private ablutions and kitchen. The beach is a short 300m-500m walk down the walkway.

These private camp sites at Wakene Beach Camp are approximately 200-300sq m and can each accommodate up to 10 guests. Power and water is available at each site (guests to bring own drinking water). The ablutions for each site include a full bathroom with toilet, shower and basin plus an additional separate toilet and a kitchen/scullery.

The kitchen is supplied with 220V electricity and equipped with a double sink, 2 plate gas stove, 170L fridge/freezer and a kettle.

An outdoor shower is also provided with hot and cold water as well as a stainless steel braai.

Toilet paper and cleaning materials, including dish washing liquid are supplied and the sites are serviced daily (including cleaning of braai and ablutions, washing of dishes and raking of camp site).

Braai wood, charcoal and ice are on sale at Wakene Beach Camp.

Wakene Beach Estate is an ideal base to explore the surrounding area and enjoy the indigenous coastal forest with prolific bird life and natural game on the estate. Access to this estate is restricted by a security controlled boom gate.

Full payment is required prior to arrival (50% deposit secures and balance is required 1 month prior to arrival). If arrival is within 31 days, then full payment is required

Minimum Stay
During low season a minimum stay of 2 nights is required.

Service Fee
R125.00 once off service fee required with deposit payment

Cleaning Fee
R75.00 – Cleaning fee per day. Please pay housekeeper in cash prior to departure.

Breakage Deposit
R1 000.00 – Refundable breakage deposit is required with the balance of payment. This will be refunded within 14 days, pending any losses/breakages reported.

Children 4-12 years are charged half price during low season

The walk back from the beautiful beach is a bit far for the oldies. The Mosquitoes were a big problem-not much that Wakene could do about it except spray the surrounding bushes more often.
